What is motivation?
Biological, emotional, social and cognitive forces that activate behaviour.

Relation
Basic emotions have motivational properties. For example, happiness motivates a person to achieve better performance.
We tend to do things (motivation) that we hope will lead us to happiness, and other positive emotions.
