        The accused had to fight the accuser in a battle to death and generally all the time the accuser would get a champion knight to fight for them and if they won they would be proved innocent if they lost they would be dead and guilty
        
        No it wasn't as it favoured the rich
      - Trial by Ordeal
        
        In trial by combat was an ancient judicial practice by which the guilt or innocence of the accused was determined by subjecting them to a painful, or at least an unpleasant, usually dangerous experience. The test was one of life or death, and the proof of innocence was survival

        They gave them a boiling hot iron bar to hold for 30 seconds and if they healed in the next 3 days they would be proved innocent if not healed they would prove guilty
