Types of bilingualism
Simultaneous
Is when a child acquires two or many languages simultaneously, for example, when they are raised by parents who speak more than one language.
Successive
Occurs when the child is exposed to the first language (L1) at birth and then begins to expose to the second language (L2) later in childhood or adulthood.
Compound
Is what occurs when both parents are bilingual and both parents speak to the child in both languages indiscriminately. The child will grow up to speak both languages effortlessly and without an accent, but will never master all the subtleties of either of them.
Additive
Develops when both languages and the culture associated with them contribute complementary positive elements to the overall development of the child's language in a balanced way
Elite
It refers to those people who choose to learn another language in formal or informal settings and will remain most of their lives in the community where their L1 is spoken and the two languages involved have a high social status and education.
Bilingualism
When a person is proficient in two or more languages which can understand, write, speak and listen, It is actually very common to be bilingual. The worst 50 percent of the world's population is believed to be bilingual. it is very important to learn another language regardless of what it is because it generates many opportunities and it is very practical.

Disadvantages
The disadvantages are the confusing errors in both languages and the grammatical structure of two languages that a bilingual person can have, it is also due to the lack of support from the educational system for non-dominant language speakers.
Advantages
One of the advantages is that you can use another language in different social contexts and others, besides being bilingual, it improves your progress and generates more job opportunities since learning a second language has become very important.
Bilingual Education
It is the process of teaching students to use two languages. Educators generally teach students in their native language along with a second language using different levels of the native language and the second language, based on the requirements specified in the lesson plans and teaching models.
