Motion
Periodic Motion
Movements in nature and the environment, that repeat themselves with the same conditions of place, speed, energy, etc. after a given period of time.
-
-
Simple harmonic motion
Is a variety of periodic motion that stands out because it presents motions in which a mass repeats its trajectory.
Characteristics:
Magnitude of motion: Distance between the position of equilibrium and the extreme position occupied by an oscilating mass.
Restoring force: A force that trends to return a mass into its position of equilibrium causing variations in its speed.
-
The Simple Pendulum
Pendulum
Any body that can oscilatee from a point of suspension. Under some conditions a pendulum will oscillate as a simple harmonic motion
Wave
-
Wave Motion
Consists in a transfer of energy, but no matter.

-
Phenomena of waves
-
-
Superposition: when two or more waves propagate through the same medium, the resulting displacement at any point is the algebraic sum of the displacement produced by eachwave separately.
-
Diffraction: When a wave encounters an obtacle that can not pass through and so it passes arround it.
-
Ressonance: When a source emits waves and they coincide with the natural frequency of vibration of the object, the body begins to vibrate with an increasing amplitude.

Light
Speed of light
Olaus Roemer was the first to estimate the speed of light, he calculated that the speed of light was 2.31 x 10^8 m/s
