Challenge/Constraints
Availability, the time to do it, lots of SME are SMEs in different tools, the same people are doing everything

Sometimes people are named as SME but actually do not know the subject or not fully onbaorded in the role yet
sometimes the stall the progress, the time is the biggest thing that holds them back
If we remove those things, everything flows
They just say, click here, click here, sometimes they do that, not always they know the why behind the things
SMEs are really good at this one thing, not good at teaching, communicating, how to break down, creating content. They are just really good at what they do...
Lots of people, are saying this is not part of my job, it is not in my role....
If it is not my team, why should i train them?
Most of the knowledge is in their heads, it is not documented
Deloitte training package it is PPT 400-500 slides. Nothing was broken down into training modules. We received it a month before the release. no time to review and make sense out of it. And create their own deck
Enable Now were just screen shots, we could not use them, we did not use R1 training.
SMEs are focusing on generic info, we are not creating creating recordings for specific process and specific teams. If the team/region requires something different we need SMes and they have no bandwidth,
in R2 it was really crazy adn EnableNow became a showstopper and we needed to process hundreds of videos very quickly
SME hate to be on video, scared of it
SMes must have access to the right level of testing vs production environment. We need to wait until the release
If the product is completely different, there are two ways to handle: re-record, or edit the recording. We do it for quality, it takes about the same time. 5-10% of all recordings fall into the space
Solutions
EnableNow needs to have a dedicated support team to process videos, someone who can create the content

SMEs must be released by their managers and we have to keep track who is doing what and keep very very organized witht he etire process. there are lot of steps. Keep track of things, it is really easy to get lost
we used to provide daily update, now it is weekly for this release+. They needed to know what is going. You need to know as much detail as possible but very simple. here is the topic and the ETA and the SME name.

SMe ready: we schedule session with SME we are ready to install, we schedule a second meeting, we align on the topic. I need for that call, all the info required in one location to run the transaction all way through. We spend 30 min in silence just waiting for all the information
SMEs must be ready, and they are the only one who known what that means to run the transaction
Three meetings: 1. Explain what is EnableNow 2. Enable Now install - 20 min and we leave it running. 3. Actually the recording to get the screens, and we record the audio. I listen tot eh video over and over until i get it
