Managing Climate Change
Mitigation
-
-
Mitigation means to reduce or prevent the effects of something from happening. Mitigation strategies include: Alternative energy - using alternative energy such as solar, wind or tidal can reduce the use of fossil fuels. This will reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere.
-
-
-
-
We have had 40 days of coal free energy during the lockdown period. Solar and wind energy is the way forward. They are developing a type of wave energy
Aforestation
-
Afforestation is the process of planting trees, or sowing seeds, in a land without any trees to create a forest. The term should not be confused with reforestation, which is the process of specifically planting native trees into a forest that has decreasing numbers of trees.
-
-
This will make sure that there is less carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere and it will produce more oxygen
Adaptation
There will be a lot of people to convince but once given the facts that we have this could be the way forward
adapting to life in a changing climate this involves adjusting to actual or expected future climate. The goal is to reduce our vulnerability to the harmful effects of climate change (like sea-level rising, more intense extreme weather events or food insecurity).

Carbon Capture
-
In the future this could be a very popular way of reducing climate change because of its sustainability
-
-
-
Carbon capture is the process of capturing waste carbon dioxide from large point sources, such as fossil fuel power plants, transporting it to a storage site, and depositing it where it will not enter the atmosphere.
