Was born in Kansas, USA.

Altough she often missed school, she was still very smart.

Was fascinated by flying, thanks to aerial stunt shows.

After high school she decided to go study nursing.

During the First World War, she worked as a military nurse.

When the war ended she became a social worker.

Her interest in flying started thanks to air shows.

She enjoyed going to air shows and watching aerial stunts.

Her fascination with flying began with a ten-minute plane ride.

After that she knew she had to learn to fly.

She had to take on several odd jobs to pay for the flying lessons.

After a years, she had save enough money to buy her own plane.

Her goal was to fly around the world.

Bad weather.

The last message the coast guard recived from Amelia was that the weather was bad and her fuel was running out.

She never arrived.

The US Navy searched for days but nothing was ever found.
