Learning Emotional Intelligence
There is a genetic component to emotional intelligence according to research, this means some people are more inherently inclined to develop the relevant skills. Emotional intelligence is a product of the brain’s limbic system governing feelings, impulses, and drives, the limbic system learns best through motivation, extended practice, and feedback. Therefore training the limbic system takes a lot longer than training the neocortex which governs analytical and technical ability. Predisposition is only a part of emotional intelligence.
