Friction
Friction is an imbalance of electrons by transferring electrons from one object to another.
Charge
Positive
When an object has positive charge, the equal number of electrons and protons exist in an atom..
Negative
when an object has a negative charge, then that object contains more electrons than protons.D
Static discharge
Static discharge is when your negatively charged hand repels electrons in the metal, so the electrons move to the other side of the knocker.
Static electricity is a buildup of electric charges on objects.
Real life example: Rubbing a balloon on your neck or flying through air,rain, snow, and dust.
Electric Field
The electric force per unit charge.
Electric Field Strength
A measure of the strength of an electric field at a given point in space, equal to the force the field would induce on a unit electric charge at that point.
Test charge
A test charge is a charge with a magnitude so small that placing it at a point has a negligible affect on the field around the point.
Non-contact force
the object is not in contact with another object and exerts forces on each other.
Circuits
A circuit is a closed path that allows electricity to flow from one point to another.
Current
An electric current is defined as the rate at which charge flows through a surface like the cross section of a wire.
Amperes
Amperes are a measure of rate of electrons that flow or current in an electrical conductor.
Voltage
A voltage is the electric potential energy per unit.
Resistance
The electrical resistance of a circuit component or device is defined as the ratio of the voltage applied to the electric current which flows through it.
Electromagnet
A magnet which functions on electricity. Consisting of an iron or steel core that is magnetized by an electric current in a coil that surrounds it.
Types of circuits
Parallel
A circuit that consists of two loops is called a parallel circuit. If one loop of a parallel circuit is interrupted, current can still flow through the other loop.
Series
A circuit that consists of one loop is called a series circuit. It it’s single loop is interrupted at any point, no current can flow through the circuit.
