Uses of "Would" and "Would have to"
To report ideas held in the past about the future: Some experts believed that the world would be much colder.
To describe something in the past as if seen as a future prediction: The 20th century would be a time of extraordinary change.
To state a hypotheses about different outcomes if the situation had been different: I wouldn't have called you, but I did not know who to call.

Use
: to talk about things in the past that were seen as probable or not probable
Passive
: The house was likely to be sold

To talk about a plan or arrangement which then changed
To report a thought
To talk about an intention whuch may or may nothave been fulfilled
In reported speech
To make a prediction based on available information that may or may not have been fulfilled

Things in the past that were going to happen in the immediate future

Bound to + Infinitive without to
Commonly used to talk about past beliefs, thing that were believed to be certain to happen: Cars were bound to become more popular as time went by.
It is also commonly used in passive voice: The problem was bound to be discovered.
