1.2.2 The Mole Concept
Amount of masses
The quantity whose unit is the mole. Chemists use 'amount of substance' as a means of counting atoms.
Avogadro's constant
The number of particles per mole is known as the Avogadro constant, NA, and is equal to 6.02 x 1023mol–1.
Mole
The amount of any substance containing as many elementary particles as there are carbon atoms in exactly 12g of the carbon-12 isotope
Molar mass
The molar mass of a substance is the mass, in grams, of one mole.
