Average duration illness 2.5weeks, and viral- reassure patient
Manage symptoms- pain relief, intranasal corticosteroids if symptoms longer than 10 days >12 years old

Signs & Symptoms
Acute
Diagnose - nasal discharge or blockage with facial pain/pressure, headache and/or reduction in sense of smell
Diagnose in children as adults, but with cough
Fever, purulent discharge, tenderness of nasal sinus on examination
