In this 21st century, IR4.0 is aligned with the Education 4.0 where technology and humans needs each other to make changes to the world. The rapid change of new technology give new phase in education.
IR2.0-electric power was used to create mass production
IR3.0- electronics and information technology were used to automate production
IR1.0-water and steam were used to mechanize production
IR4.0 - emergence of artificial intelligence, robotics, the internet of things, autonomous vehicles, bio and nanotechnology, 3-D printing, material science, quantum computing and energy storage (Diwan, 2017)
Education 1.0 was classroom-based –no technology approach in class.
Education 4.0 going through this phase:
Education 2.0 was learning based on what society felt was necessary for learning in life.
Education 3.0,used technology more universally where learning occurred not just in classrooms through teachers, but collaboration peers also.
Education 4.0 will be defined by teaching students not what to study, but how to learn and how to adapt to the rapidly-changing technological ecosystem we are approaching.
it is learning where anyone can access anywhere and anytime with internet access.(eg:online seminars)
searching and generate new knowledge and information in a fast way.
keep up-to-date with new knowledge continuously
development of e-learning techniques and tools
will develop new skills such as critical thinking, creative, collaboration, cognitive, problem solving and etc.
blended learning, flipped classroom and BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) approach.
students will be assessed differently and the conventional platforms to assess students may become ir-relevant or insufficient
The emergence of user-friendly VR and AR apps has helped instructors to integrate virtual and augmented reality in educators' teaching and learning
Educators will keep updating themselves with the new digital tools to meet the learning preference of the Gen Z students so that learn can occur in a fun way. Students will reflect the learning to determine the objective for example.
In my opinion, future education is a continuous, life-long learning process where's necessary to keep going with the changing of technology from time to time. The education took place that used technology as a connection to the educators where students learning today that lead to the future. So, the content of education can give new experience to the learners in the context of learning whether in the setting and the process itself. Better education can give an opportunities to the learners so that they might have a vision in their life.
The learning take place based on needs of the students so that they learn skills and knowledge on their interest.
