Demography: The study of population growth and changes in population composition
Fertility and Birth Rates
Fertility: The number of live births.
Crude birth rate: the number of live births for every 1,000 people in a population in a given year.
General fertility rate: the number if live births per 1,000 women aged 15-44 years.
Total fertility rate: the number children an average women is expected to have in their live time, sometimes expressed as the number of children an average 1,000 women are expected to have in their lifetimes.
