After reflecting on the research data obtained, the plan for action is to make a bin in the Homework Club space for students to place their paper homework once they are done. This will be an excellent option for students who avoid doing their paper homework because they are afraid of losing it or because they usually forget to turn it in once they are done. Making the bin colorful and attractive or providing a price for whenever students finish their paper assignment can help students to get motivated to work on homework that they might usually ignore.
Another option is to communicate the problem of paper homework not being as dynamic or engaging enough as a computer assignment to the administration. By taking the problem with other staff at the school, together, we can encourage teachers to provide more computer homework rather than paper as students are more likely to complete, learn more from it, and engage more in the class. If teachers agree to this arrangement, we should start seeing significant improvement in Homework Club students’ grades. If teachers do not agree to give more computer assignments, another option is to make paper assignments more colorful and dynamic. Although the student experience might not be the same as with computer assignments, it can help students feel more attracted to work on it and complete it.
