- - - - The Medium is the Message:
        Marshall McLuhan is the first father and leading prophet of the electronic age. He studied the effects of technology and the effect they have on humans and their relationships with each other. He introduces the term "the medium is the message" and "global village".
        
        Technological Determination:
        A theory that assumes that a society's technology determines the development of its social structure and cultural values. The term originated from Thorstein Veblen. This is the belief that technology is why we progress in history and why we have social changes.
        
        Social Shaping of Technology:
        (SST) is the opposition of Technological Determinism. This was influenced by McLuhan and Innis. (SST) is the theory that society and technology work together with society influencing technology made. The two theories have influenced the actor-network theory (ANT) and the social construction of technology (SCOT).
- - - - Google Knowing:
        Michael Patrick Lynch explains how all the knowledge we gain is online. "Google-knowing" is how we gain information and knowledge via the testimony machine of the internet.
        
        Our Digital Form of Life:
        Michael Patrick Lynch talks about Neuromedia. He introduces the clock and maps. He explains the effect that they have on space and time. With the clock and maps being made it has shown how technology was bound to control us since the beginning.
