Underlying Cause: In 2011, the racial configuration of Quebec was 87.2% caucasian (white), 11% minority groups, and 1.4 Aboriginal (1.1% First Nations, 0.5% Metis, 0.2 Inuit). Quebec compared to other provinces has a smaller number of "visible minority groups" (World Population). Furthermore, these statistics may suggest how the opinions of the majority overpower and sometimes suppress the rights/freedoms of the minorities as well as their opinions, which can influence decisions made by the government. Also, as some cases these choices are made, they may only benefit one party/group (of people).
