ADVERBS OF PLACE
they talk about where something is going

ADVERBS OF MANNER
they tell us something is going on
must be placed either before the verb or at the end of the sentence.
If there is a preposition before the verb, then you can put the adverb before the preposition or after the object.
they always come immediately after verbs that have no object (intransitive verbs).
These common mode adverbs are almost always placed immediately after the verb: good, bad, hard, and fast

they tell us when an action took place, but also how long and how often
