Science Idea
Previous Experiments
There had been a study similar to my project which is called 'Liquid Fertiliser from Food Waste - A sustainable Approach written by the Department of Environmental Science in India.
From this experiment concluded that the liquid fertiliser has potential if it is processed into organic liquid fertiliser. Reusing and diverting of food waste will reduce the landfill space and reduces the green house gases.
Questions
Will the store bought liquid fertiliser from food waste be as effective as a store-bought commercial liquid fertiliser?
-
Variables
Independant
The different liquid fertilisers which are the: banana peels, coffee grounds and eggshells
Dependant
The measurement of the stem size everyday, the colour of the leaves and stem, the strength, the texture and how long it is.
Controlled
The conditions of the plants: amount of sunlight, amount of water poured on the plants, amount of organic potting mix in the pots and amount of seeds.
Benefits
The people who benefit from this project are people who are probably starting out in gardening or wanting to give their plants extra nutrients without spending additional money. The environment might also benefit from this project because people can convert their food waste into liquid fertiliser.

Issues Relating to topic
The issues is that many people throw away their banana peels, eggshells and coffee grounds not knowing this food waste could be used as liquid fertiliser.
