Co-Founding Considerations
What does your company need that you are not good at or unable to do?
While I have the ideas and the know-how to start a business and know what I want to do and how I want to proceed, one thing that I do not have much experience with is marketing.
I do know many people and platforms in the area that are very much interested in helping get the word out about local businesses.
I have never been in the position where I needed to have these skills or take classes related to marketing.
Who can help with it?
The Beacher Weekly Newspaper
This is a local newspaper that I used to work with and know the staff very well.
They are always interested in local stories and advertising local businesses.
It is a weekly paper that is more than happy to advertise businesses or events every week, so as the business changes and expands and events pop up, we would be able to run ads with them.
WE FM
This is a local radio station that does everything from play music, to covering local news to interviews with local politicians and leaders to ads for local businesses.
There are many businesses and corporations that make their own commercials for WEFM to air.
Michigan City Public Library
The local library has a PR team that is more than happy to accept ads for local businesses and events.
What characteristics and priorities in teammates would complement yours?
Passion
My teammates would need to have the same kind of passion for wine, food, and customer service as I have, striving for excellence with the products coming in and going out of the business.
Determination
Determination to never settle for less and make the business a success not only for themselves but for their families and our customers.
Strive for success
My teammates would have to be just as driven as I am to make this business a success.
I would expect my teammates to have the same work ethic as me, to strive for 1000% every day.
Excels in customer service.
Happy customers are what dictate a successful business. Without a customer base, there is no hope for a business. My teammates would need to be just as concerned with our customers' happiness and well-being as I am.
