Discrimination is the unfair treatment of people and groups based on several characteristics
Equality is treating everyone the same while equity is giving everyone what they need to be successful.
Equality aims to promote fairness but it can only work if everyone starts from the same place and from scratch altogether
Equity appears unfair but it actively moves everyone closer to success.
Types of discrimination
color discrimination
-Employment discrimination against a person because of his or her color.
Religious Discrimination
-discrimination against a person because of his or her religion or religious practices
racial discrimination
-treating people differently because of their race or ethnicity
national origin discrimination
-employment discrimination against a person because of his or her heritage, cultural characteristics, or the country of the person's ancestors
Sex/Gender Discrimination
-Discrimination against female or male
