The book has won many awards, including being named one of the top 100 best English-language novels since 1923 by Time Magazine
At first it sold less than 3,000 copies, but then became a bestseller and by the 60s was required reading in many schools
The place and the time (also as the video says) is so unprecise that it could be anytime everywhere showing that the human behaviour aqlways will be the same
And of course a lot of the elements in the book have a special symbolism that create this work in a masterpiece
