CRITERIA OF THE CONCEPT
1-Natural Permissibility (Mubah) of Things Created by Allah, Unless Explicity Forbidden (Haram)
2- To Make Halal or Haram is The Right of Allah Alone
3- Prohibition of Thing Due to Its Harmfulness
4- What is Halal is Sufficient and What is Haram is Superfluous
5- Whatever Condusive to Haram is Haram Itself
6- Falsely Representing Haram as Halal is Forbidden
7- Good Intention Does Not Make the Haram Acceptable
8- Doubtful Things Should Be Avoided
9- Haram Things Are Prohibited To Everyone Alike
10- Compelling Necessity(Darurah) Dictates Exception
DEFINITION 0F HALAL, HARAM AND SYUBHAH
Halal
originate from Arabic phrase means allowed or
permitted by Islamic Law

Haram
means unlawful or
prohibited by Islamic Law**
which the opposite from halal.
Syubhah
means suspect in doubt or
uncertainty
which is between halal and haram. The status was unknown

HALAL
Al-Quran
: "...
Eat of what is on earth, Lawful and good."
(Al-Baqarah : 168)
HARAM
Al-Quran
: "...
forbidden to be eaten by one who wishes to eat it, unless it be dead meet, or blood poured
forth, or flesh of swine..." (Al-An'am : 145)
Hadith
:
" On the day of the confrontation of Khalibar, the prophet PBUH forbade the eating of the flesh of domesticated donkeys"
(Sahih Bukhari, book 67, no 429)
