Treatment

Prognosis
Interstitial lung disease varies on the cause and your susceptibility. Sometimes it progresses slowly and sometimes worsens quickly. Some interstitial lung diseases have a better prognosis than others, a common one is called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. The average survival for people with this type is currently 3 to 5 years. It can be longer with certain medications and depending on the medication.
