Why is struggle necessary for societal change?
Social struggle is necessary for change to happen because without the struggle communities would not realize that they are unhappy in their current situation. Meaning without the struggle their would be no change.
Why is cooperation through coalition-building difficult?
There has to be an alliance formed for such a cooperation to happen. This in itself can be challenging in political parties trying to form a government because they do not wish to give up certain things that they stand for which would disappear if they accepted a coorperation.

This unit connects to me today because all around the world environmental activist are trying to come together and get the attention of their governments to successfully stop climate change.
Another connection is with the pandemic governments have to change how society normally functions to stop the virus from spreading.
