        Conventional one size fits all curriculum
        
        In some countries, such as France, pupils are set on two different tracks by the time they enter our equivalent of high school grades. Based on their performance, they are either prepared for college or they are prepared for a more technical track. While American schools do allow students to choose career clusters, most of the standards they adapt are one-size fit all. In other words, students whose aptitude reside in technical or vocational careers and who have no desire to attend traditional college must sit in the same core classes with their college-bound peers. Hence I feel that different students should have the choice to choose the curriculum that suits them the most, instead of having to go through the hassle of learning curricula that they have no interest in.

- - - - Standardized tests do have their place in education, but like with anything else, too much is overkill. Too many standardized tests have been proven to give students stress and it would not necessarily equate to good grades or a good education, as the overwhelming stress that the education system places on them could affect their overall performance. Hence I believe that schools should have lesser standardized tests and include other forms of
    - - Based more on holistic education and less on homework and tests
        
        Finland's education system
        
        First of all, Finns teach their children in a “playful” manner and allow them to enjoy their childhood. For example, did you know that in average, students in Finland only have three to four classes a day? Furthermore, there are several breaks and recesses (15-20 minutes) during a school day when children can play outside whatever the weather. According to statistics, children need physical activity in order to learn better. Also, less time in the classroom allows Finnish teachers to think, plan and create more effective lessons.
        
        Finnish education approach shows the world that when it comes to homework, less is more.
        
        Academic results are still exemplary and high university/ high school admission rates. A large majority seek higher education and have a higher happiness index
    - - This is not to say that planning should outweigh teaching time; rather, this is to assert that some time should be taken from teaching to be put into planning. Teachers from Finland and Japan have more planning time and produce better results in the classroom. This is because their educational leaders understand that there is far more to teaching than actual teaching.
