Determination of any environmental, cultural, language, or economic differences that might mask the student's true abilities. If at least one concern is noted, the team must consider administering a non-traditional intelligence test.
Adaptive behavior scales
Total score on at least one adaptive behavior scale must be at least two standard deviations below the mean (70 or below).
For students with individual intellectual scores in the significant cognitive disability range (55 and below), the total score on at least one adaptive behavior scale must be at least 1.5 standard deviations below the mean (77 or below).
