Erythromycin
Mechanisms of action
Inhibits growth of bacteria at high concentrations
Binds to 50s subunit or rRNA complex protein synthesis.
Function processes critically for life of replication are inhibited
Dosage
4-20mg a day before meals
Storage
At room temperature ,away from light and moist. Not higher than 30°c.

Intravenously

Indications
For a ute infections caused by Streptococcus
Prophylaxis against alpha- hemolytic Streptococcal endocarditis
Contraindications
Hypersensitive to the drug
Prophygia
Hepatic impairment
Nursing considerations
Administer on empty stomach
Culture Site of infection before therapy
Monitor liver functioning
Give meals as directed
