PAVEMENT EVALUATION
-
-
Coring
- Determine the bulk specific gravity of cored sample(d)
It is calculated by mass of cored sample in air divided by the subtraction of mass of cores saturated surface dry and mass of cores sample in water "d=a/(b-c)"
-
-
-
- Degree is compaction is obtained by calculated the percentage of specific gravity of cored (on site) divided with specific gravity Marshall (laboratory)
The degree of compaction obtained from the calculation needed to compared with required minimum degree of compaction (standard)
Extraction
- Determine the bitumen content of sample( core sample/loose sample)
-
-
Mass of filter ring + filler,w3
Mass of extraction sample,w4
-
- Compare the bitumen content of sample (on site) with optimum bitumen content (Marshall mix design)
-
-
Conclusion
Based on the three evaluations and conclude the quality of the paving work and whether comply with standard or not.
