EMS SYSTEMS team of health care professionals that are responsible for providing prehospital emergency care and transportation for sick and injured in there jurisdiction area. Although the specific training and licensure requirements vary from state to state. almost all states requirements meet or exceed the guidelines recommended in the current national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) EMS education standards.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN HAS TRAINING IN BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) INCLUDING (AED), AIRWAY ADJUNCTS, AND ASSISTING PATIENTS WITH CERTAIN MEDICATIONS
ADVANCED EMT HAS TRAINING IS SPECIFIC ASPECTS OF (ALS), SUCH AS INTRAVENOUS (IV) THERAPY AND THE ADMINISTRATION OF CERTIAN EMERGENCY MEDICATIONS.
PARAMEDIC HAS EXTENSIVE TRAINING IN ALS, INCLUDING ENDOTRACHEAL INTUBATION, EMERGENCY PHARMACOLOGY, CARDIAC MONITORING AND OTHER ADVANCED ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT SKILLS
EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDER HAS VERY BASIC TRAINING AND PROVIDES CARE BEFORE AMBULANCE ARRIVES. EMR'S MAY ALSO PERFORM IN AN ASSITANT ROLE IN WITHIN THE AMBULANCE.

SCENE SIZE UP- During scene size up you must gain a big picture perspective of the call, determine whether it is safe to proceed, determine whether additional resources are needed, and identify the initial approach to mitigate the emergency.
PATIENT ASSESSMENT- Patient assessment is the foundation of any EMS call. You must determine what is wrong with the patient. Patients can have many complaints and you will learn to determine which are life threatening.
TREATMENTS- As an EMT, you will provide oxygenation and medication therapies. you will control bleeding and assist patients during childbirth. In addition to hands on skills, you will learn how to manage patients who are in emotional crisis, and to calm patients and to relieve some of their anxiety.
EMS AS A CAREER- many of you are taking this course because you want to help other people. To ensure all ems providers have a long healthy career, it is important for you to learn how to take care of yourself. We will discuss job stressors and successful ways to cope with them.
Packaging- Most patients need to be transported to a facility. this could mean a hospital, clinic, or other medical care facility. You will learn to transport patients with a wide variety of illnesses and injuries.
