This revolution represented the ideas of Liberty, Fraternity and equality.

The French society was divided into three estates:
- The clergy
- The Nobility
- Buisnessmen, merchants, peasents, servants
The members of the first two estates which were the clergy and nobility, enjoyed certain privilages by birth.
The population of France increased from 23 million to 28 million which caused the increase of needs of people. This led to the Economic cause of France.
in 1774, Louis XVI became king of France and faced economic problems due to long years of war.
Montesquieu, Rousseu and Voltaire rebelled aginst the government and stood up for their rights.
Louis XVI and his wife lived in Versailes Palace, Paris.
