      - I think that entrenching tools would be really important for soldiers at that time because it would be really helpful if you need to take cover. You can't just go out in the open, try to shoot people and expect not to get killed. You need cover. But you also can't just stay covered and expect to win the war. I can understand why the entrenching tools were important for soldiers. I also understand that both of the entrenching tools and a gun are very important. Both of them are equal in importance. You need both of those things to survive in war. I think that a gun, armour (bulletproof vest, Kevlar helmet, shield etc.). are important for soliders in our time. Even today entrenching tools are still important for soldiers.
