Definition
Bacterial infection of Central Nervous System (CNS)
Pathophysiology
invade the CNS
infection is introduced into the CNS underlying structures
Staphylococcus and Streptococcus
this leads to purulent drainage between the dura and arachnoid
pathogens such as
pus results in the meninges, middle ear, mastoid sinuses,
septicaemia or skull fracture
Pharmacologic therapy
Antibiotics
Antifungal agents
Hospitalization must be prolonged for proper medication administration
