The twentieth century is an age of extraordinary transformation and events:
NEW TECHNOLOGIES:
•COMMUNICATION: were new means of communication as new newspaper and radio.
•TRANSPORT: was born the car and the tram.
•WAR VEHICLE: were created war vehicles as submarine and tanks.
EVENTS:
•First World War.
•Birth of Commonwealth of Nation (ex British Empire).
•Second World War.
FIRST WORLD WAR
(1914-1918)
It is a trench war.
Consequences:
Change of society:
Society was anxious and with a sense of frustration.
Family were smaller; many unemployment.
Woman: were independent; "Movement of Suffragettes".
Historical events:
•The war started with the murder of archduke Francesco Ferdinando.
In 1916 Military Service Act. It forced men between 18 and 41 years old to join in the army.
•It involved the grates power:Triple alliance: Germany, Austria-Hungar and Italy and Triple entent: Britain, France, Russia and USA.
Germany marched in neutral territory.Britain declared war on Germany.
The kingdom of Edward VII
After the death of Queen Victoria, her son Edward VII came to the throne.
During his reign, he made many reforms and founds the Welfarwe State
