The Physiology of Taste
What is Taste?
Is the most complex of all our senses. And also, along with smell, the most ancient.
Taste works along with all the other senses to create the flavours within our brains, specially with the smell.

How does taste work?
1. When a chemoreceptor is stimulated by the type of molecule it was built to detect, it tells the membrane to allow sodium ions into the cell.
2. We already have sodium ions present in our bodies, we eat salt to maintain it. If enough sodium ions come into the cell, they generate an electric impulse all the way to the brain, where its perceived as a taste (which its stronger as there are more impulses sent from the cells).
