Defination
Abnormal inner ear fluid balance caused by the build up of fluid and malabsorption in the endolymphatic sac
pathophysiology
Overproduction or decreased absorption of endolymph
Degeneration of vestibular and cochlea hair cells
Dilation of the endolymph space
Increased pressure or rapture of the inner ear membrane
Blockage in the endolymphatic duct
Backed up fluid in the sac leads to swelling and pressure
Swelling in the balance canals
Swelling in the hearing canal
Disorted balance and sound information
Disorted information travels to the brain
