Summary of "Why is storytelling important"
Creates initiative in learners and that is a strong leadership skill.
Creates and encourages digital literacy which is important in today and tomorrow's workforce.
Encourages reflection which is an important writing skill but also leadership quality.
Encourages critical thinking skills...the who, why, what and constraints.
Why is storytelling engaging to the learner?
Exhibit understanding using different mediums such audi, video, image and text. This is a classic alternative assessment option.
Enables them to promote, support, teach, tell or challenge.
Able to share their work with other students in a safe manner.
Clear connections to how you will integrate digital storytelling into your classroom.
A greater emphasis on reflection and revision should take place for digital storytelling to be truly effective.
Create better internal methods for students to publish in a safe and secure manner. Maybe a school blog (without the comment feature).
Students need to be completing more "initiative style mini projects".
