MARKETING STRATEGIES AND TECHNIQUES
THE ADVENT OF NLP IN MARKETING
NLP stands for Neuro Linguistic Programming and it is an approach to com- munication founded in California in the 70s with the purpose of changing hu- man behaviour-patterns through special techniques.
is adopted by
marketing planners
Politicians
media
The main characteristic of NLP is
the use of convincing language to encourage consumers to stop and listen to an offer on a product or a service.
TELEMARKETING
operators call the consumer at home from a call center.
They are generally given a list of telephone numbers to call
they make proposals regarding:
discounts
benefits
gifts
advantages
This method may be annoy- ing for people who are at home and do not want to be disturbed for something that they do not want.
ONLINE MARKETING
is used by businesses to
romote, advertise, sell their products
find out customers' needs, wants and special requirements.
To reach consumers, companies use the Net in a number of ways: first of all through e-mails.
but E-mail marketing may be confused with spam (unwanted messages which fill a mail box).
However when the number of messages start to accumulate or if people are not interested in them anymore, they have the op- tion to unsubscribe.
VIDEO MARKETING
Sending videos instead of e-mails has become very popular nowa- days, thanks to channels like YouTube
Companies or private users can use videos to promote products or personal services.
NETWORK MARKETING
is a sales method that allows a distribution network to be created without investing money.
People who work with network marketing can manage their job independently and with- out the need for a minimum level of turnover.
It is referred to as multilevel because people can start from the lowest level of the pyramid chart and if they have good sales they can reach the next level and have more benefits.
