        -He was born in London, educated at a college for Dissenterss, he chose to go into business and became a merchant. -Before to be a novelist ,he was a journalist, and author of histories, travel books, handbooks, and advice book.
        
        His masterpiece was "Robinson Crusoe"(1719), that tells about a no flashy hero or grand epic adventurer.
        
        -His perseverance in spending months making a canoe, in practing pottery making until he gets it right, is praiseworthy. -Crusoe prefers to depict himself as an ordinary sensible man, never as an exceptional hero.
        
        Defoe's The Life and Strange Surprising Adventures of Robinson Crusoe tells the story of one man's victorious survival on an uninhabited island. -It is assumed that the origin of the novel in english coincided with the European colonial project at the beginning of the 18th century,
        
        Robinson Crusoe displays character traits that have won him the approval of generation of readers.

        Swift use satire in his works. Satire is literary form which means irony. -For example Swift want to expose human vices through satiric tone. -He use satire to criticize human weakness.
        
        In ‘Gulliver’s Travel’, Swift makes up a horse society Houyhnhnm and a brutal animal Yahoo. Gulliver has to admit that human beings are yahoos after a series comparison between human and yahoo.
