Characters
Malcolm
He does not die. He become King in the end.
His major ambition is to become king after Macduff comes to find him and tells him to his country.
He is the son of Duncan.
"When I shall tread upon the tyrant's head,
Or wear it on my sword, yet my poor country
Shall have more vices than it had before,
More suffer and more sundry ways than ever,
By him that shall succeed."
Macduff
He does not die. He kills Macbeth.
He wants to avenge his wife and son who Macbeth kills. As well as putting Malcom on the throne.
He is a noblemen and doesn't like Macbeth. He becomes the leader of the crusades against Macbeth.
"Despair thy charm;
And let the angel whom thou still hast served
Tell thee, Macduff was from his mother's womb
Untimely ripp'd."
King Duncan
Killed by Macbeth
His major ambitions are not being killed about Macbeth.
"There's no art / To find the mind's construction in the face: / He was a gentleman on whom I built / An absolute trust."
He's a Scottish King
Banquo
Killed by one of the murders that Macbeth sends after him.
He wasn't really ambitious.
He is one of the generals.
"There if I grow,
The harvest is your own."
Lady
Macbeth
She kills herself
She is Macbeth's wife.
Her major ambitions for her husband to become king and she will gain power.
"This have I thought good to deliver
thee, my dearest partner of greatness, that thou
mightst not lose the dues of rejoicing, by being
ignorant of what greatness is promised thee. Lay it
to thy heart, and farewell.'"
The Witches
They do not die.
Their ambition is mostly unclear. It creates the question if Macbeth became king because he wanted to or because the witches influenced him.
They are witches that give a prophecy to Macbeth that he'll become king.
"First Witch: All hail, Macbeth! hail to thee, thane of Glamis!
Second Witch: All hail, Macbeth, hail to thee, thane of Cawdor!
Third Witch: All hail, Macbeth, thou shalt be king hereafter!"
Macbeth
Killed by Macduff.
His major ambition is keeping the power he gained after killing King Duncan
He's a Scottish King.
"Thou wast born of woman / But swords I smile at, weapons laugh to scorn, / Brandish'd by man that's of a woman born."
