FRACTURE OF THE NOSE
DEFINITION
Possible causes include a sports injury, an accident or a fight

Anti-inflammatory
Analgesia

NURSING CARE PLAN
Pain
Give analgesia and anti inflammatries
Nurse patient in comfortable position
Determine cause of pain and treat according
use of a warm heating pad or an ice pack for discomfort
Monitor for relief of pain and any side effects of medication
Administer eye drops
Hemorrhage
Monitor FBC and fluid and electrolyte
Assess for potential bleeding
Replace lost plamsa and erythrocytes
Minimize bleeding
Disturbed body image
Assess patients feeling and self esteem
Identify potential threats to low selfesteem
Encourage patient to verbalize concerns
