Drug action
Lowers triglycerides levels in the blood stream
Lowers apoliprotein B levels
Lowers the LDL cholesterol
Increase the levels of HDL cholesterol
Indications
To treat high blood triglycerides level
Increase HDL on patients with primary hypercholesterol-emia and mixed dyslipidemia
Used to treat elevated total cholesterol
To reduce risk of coronary revascularization procedures
To slow the progression of the coronary atherosclerosis
Side effects
Difficulty in breathing
Swelling of the face, lips and throat
Hives
Kidney failure
Abdominal pain
