Converts hypoxathine to xathine and xanthine to uric acid
Reutilization of hypoxanthine for nuleotide and nucleic acid synthesis
Inhibits the action of xanthine oxidase
Increases nucleotide concerntration
Oxypurinal decreases the production of uric acid
Contraindications
Diabetes
High blood pressure (hypertension)
Kidney disease
Fasting
Liver disease
