Nursing Care
Nursing diagnosis
Acute pain
Risk for deficient fluid volume
Ineffective airway clearance
Evaluation
Normal fluids and electrolytes
Patent airway
Patient is free of pain
Nursing Intervention
Encourage patient to drink adequate fluid
Teach breathing exercises
Place patient in a side lying position
Administer antibiotics and IV steroids
Assess for signs of inadequate oxygenation
