Determination
Some students just give up of they fail or don’t do well at something. How would you encourage them to keep trying?
Show them the bigger picture
Engage them in simpler tasks tat they can complete and excel in first so that they can gain their confidence to continue to work for their end goal
Share with them personal experiences of my own failures and explain that failure is inevitable - many famous people wouldn’t have achieved what they have without failure
HFWYA with the view that determination is the key to success?

other key factors that affect success
there can be physical factors such as talent or effort that affects the end result
even when someone has the resolve/motivation to achieve something, it also depends on their own efforts
i could say im determined to get 6 points for o level but without putting in time to revise, i probably wont get it
Team work
What would you do to encourage a reluctant team player to be a better member of the team?
By explaining to them the common goal
Show them the consequences of not putting in effort and how it is extremely unfair to the other teammates
Involving a trusted adult or teacher to help diffuse the situation and give an external opinion on the situation because the teammate is more likely to listen to a person with authority
Get a friend of theirs to talk them through because it is possible that they have a personal vendetta against you

1.
The Drive to Start Things
– Confident people start things. They are not shy about striking out on a new idea even when those around them are still pondering it.
The Ability to Stand Up for Oneself
– Confidence allows you to stand up for yourself in a fair and consistent manner. Otherwise, you may find yourself unheard or unfairly treated.
The Ability to Say No
– Confident people have the ability to say “No” where appropriate. They do not take on unnecessary or inappropriate work or obligations.
The Ability to Say Yes
– And at the same time, confident individuals say “Yes” to opportunity. They do not miss new options because they are shy. I have seen individuals’ pass up opportunities (even promotions) because they didn’t think they were “worthy.”
Confidence Overcomes Fear
– Lack of confidence can lead to paralysis from fear. Fear of failure. Fear of what others think. Fear of the unknown. To succeed, you need the confidence to face and overcome your fears.
Believe In Themselves
– Self-confidence means believing in yourself. Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t — you’re right.” He was right.
Stretch Your Limits
– Confidence lets you know your limits and test them. By stretching your limits you increase them.
Set the Bar High Enough
– Confident individuals set the bar high and aim high. Lack of confidence leads to weak goals, setting the bar too low, and mediocre results.
Confidence Asks Questions
– Confidence allows you to ask questions, even when others are silent
Believe In Winning
– Confident people believe in success. And more importantly, they believe in their ability to succeed.
