Positive interdependence - relying on each other.
Individual accountability - taking responsibility (working in groups does not always lead to cooperation).
Group processing - decision making as a group.
Interpersonal and small group skills - skills required when working together e.g. listening, leading, following, suggesting etc.
Face-to-face interaction - close proximity to each other.
Examples of Cooperative Learning in practice

To understand attacking and defending roles.
To develop strategies and approaches to scoring goals
Net/Wall Game -

Scoring points
Can be developed to 4v4
Make the games short - 2 minutes per game
Allow time for the children to reflect - What went well? What did not work as well? Why is this? What do you need to change for next time?
Identify a role for each child to take on within the game.
Develop to 8v8 if enough time.
Can create new rules and develop or adapt them if they do not work well.
