- - - - The sea around Svalbard (the Barents Sea) is home to many programs to help preserve fish iclauding many breeding programs. The fishing here is controlled jointly by Russia and Norway in the goal of keeping the blance and a good ecosystem.

        It can help the islands econemy grow and even help grow some eco-friendly industries.

        Hiking can cause soil ersion and as traviling to Svalbard is hard the flights and ships may also have a negertive effect on the enviroment.
  - - - Like Iceland Svalbard has lots of acess to geothermal fissures which can be turned into power plants, these power plants are also much beter for the enviroment as they produce little to no greenhouse gasses.
- - - - Although the permafrost is good for building foundations on if the permafrost melts than the building becomes unstable.
      - Pipes have to be built above ground and have to be heated to prevent them from freezing.
      - With tempretures able to dip below -30oc during winter it makes working out side very diffcult as people most have bulky suits to keep them warm.
  - - - Almost all of the roads are in and around Longyearbyen meaning most people have to get around on snow mobiles. This could effect all areas of Svalbard from econemy to health care as doctors can't get around as esily.
