Many soldiers had risked their lives in the war and hid their injuries (mental & physical) in fear of being discharged; shell shock and PTSD was common for soldiers
The lost generation had a totally different view on war compared to the previous generations; The glorification and romanticization of war was overthrown by a more modern view on war being terrible; Books such as "All Quiet on the Western Front" discuss the tragedies that soldiers faced during the war

Nationalism: identification with one's own nation and support for its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations.
Imperialism: a policy of extending a country's power and influence through diplomacy or military force.
Alliances: a union or association formed for mutual benefit, especially between countries or organizations.

Roles of Animals
Dogs
Casualty Dog: A casualty dog would be trained to find wounded or hurt soldiers on battlefield, the carried medical supplies so the soldier could treat himself or have a companion with him as he died
Sentry Dogs: These dogs would alert soldiers and guards if they sense any danger with a low growl or a bark
Birds would be used to send messages and Horses could be used to carry wounded soldiers or weapons to battle. Many animals were used as mascots for soldiers and used to keep up moral.

While the treaty had ended the war it did not solve any underlying issues and had humiliated Germany which would lead to the start of second World War
