Dialogues move the story along, adding verbal expressions to can explain more about the characters, the plot and the events that led to the situation.
Non-fictional
A conversation between two people can help in understanding the situation much more than simply narrative. Dialogues in nonfictional stories also leave a bigger impact on the reader as the message was actually conveyed by someone.
How to write interesting and effective dialogues
The dialogues should resemble the character that is speaking. Each character have their own unique personality and therefore all speak in their own ways.
Being dynamic and keep in mind the realism in the message
Dialogues can convey lengthy messages but should be made brief, not pages and pages.
