Cause-The kids trying to find away to talk to Boo Effect- Nathan Radly closing the knothole with cement.
Cause- Attics taking on a case for a black man Effect- the whole town disliking him and calling him a negro lover
Cause: Jem cut off all of Mrs.Dubose camellias after she said that Atticus defends Negros
Effect: Jem has to read to Mrs.Dubose everyday for a month

rabid dog- The dog is a symbol of tom robinson because the dog was not actively harming anyone but however the town knew the dog must be put down like tom charged "guilty" in the eyes of his town
The knothole represents friendship that is soon about to start from the most mysterious man in Maycomb. Boo has been watching the children play in front of his house, and the gifts serve as an ice-breaker between them ” All the various items he leaves in the knothole provide a tantalizing glimpse into his own little world, a world that no one else has ever had the chance to see.”(p109).
